Did you know that now it’s required by law to be compliant with OSHA Regulation 1910.27, The Final Rule? What does this mean for you?
Building owners had until November 20th, 2017, to become compliant regarding their fall protection systems. Under OSHA Regulation 1910.27, it’s mandatory that building owners have documentation that their fall protection system is certified as safe to be used.
If you’re a building owner, you can no longer use your existing fall protection systems unless you comply with the following:
- All anchors have documentation of a visual inspection every year.
- All anchors are load-tested every 10 years by a Professional Engineer.
- Proof of passing load test inspection with an official, stamped document.

Keep on reading, because if you’re a window washing company, this is important for you as well.
Window washing companies can’t work on any building unless the owners have provided the certified documentation listed above. If the building is not compliant…just say no. By law, you must refuse to work on that building.
